MATH 2230 - Theoretical Linear Algebra and Calculus

(MQR-AS)
Fall. 4 credits.

Forbidden Overlap: Due to an overlap in content, students will receive credit for only one course in the following group: MATH 2210 , MATH 2230, MATH 2310 , MATH 2940 .
Prerequisite: two semesters of calculus with a grade of A- or better, equivalent AP credit, or permission of instructor. Designed for students who have been highly successful in their previous calculus courses. MATH 2230–MATH 2240  provides an integrated treatment of linear algebra and multivariable calculus presented at a higher theoretical level than in MATH 2210 MATH 2220 .

Staff.

Topics include vectors, matrices, and linear transformations; differential calculus of functions of several variables; inverse and implicit function theorems; quadratic forms, extrema, and manifolds; multiple and iterated integrals.
